Internet Treasure Chest is a program that claims to give its users a very profitable and inexpensive business opportunity using the internet. Through this program, its promotions claim, one can easily set up a web site and start selling or operating your online business. The product is being promoted through TV infomercials and through its web site. It claims to “give you everything you need to start your very own exciting internet business, including your own worldwide web site for an unbelievable price of only US$39.95”.
If you go to the web site of Internet Treasure Chest, testimonials abound with people claiming to have earned from their businesses anywhere from US$1,000 to US$30,000 a month. The program is being sold with a 60 day money back satisfaction guaranteed. If you return the package within 60 days, you will get a full refund, excluding shipping and handling. The site, ironically, however, does not explain anything and seems to be lacking in information necessary for an intelligent buy decision. It does not fully explain how the system works which renders it as suspect.
In 2003, the Internet Treasure Chest (ITC) got into trouble with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) which ordered an asset freeze on the company and its principal because the FTC asserts that ITC’s claims are false and without any basis in fact. This move and a restraining order was made by FTC after receiving complaints from a number of consumers complaints were received against ITC. Consumers claim that they have been denied refunds by ITC, and that after purchasing the product, they were induced to make numerous additional purchases to activate their internet business.
Based on this and real consumer reviews, Internet Treasure Chest can be considered a scam. It lures consumers into buying a really cheap package that does not hold to its promise. Of course, one would be attracted to having an internet business web site for less than US$100. Add to this are the promises of huge sales volume and income. The basic package seems to get you only through setting up a simple basic web site. If you want to enhance or add more functionality to your site, you would have to purchase upgrades and design services from the company. Its claims of huge traffic and business being driven to your site are also doubtful.
Internet Treasure Chest is a program to stay away from in view of the complaints and bad reviews about it. Still though, the company continues to promote the product in its web site and on TV infomercials. If you want to save your precious money and time, then it would be better not to believe the program’s claims or you may become one of its victims. If you are really looking for a really good internet business opportunity, perform due research first. You may spend time researching and studying various products now but it would save you from a lot of trouble later on had you not done so and fell into one of those scams such as this.
